Most readers of this email feel more like “aliens” and “exiles” in society today than than Christians did in previous generations. But nothing’s new under the Son for the church of the living God, and an ancient letter stands ready to help us prepare, and even thrive: Peter’s first epistle. Look at the Book is John Piper’s effort to help us learn to read the Bible for ourselves, ten minutes at a time. The camera is on the text, not the teacher, and the collective effect of walking all the way through a book of the Bible, verse by verse, every word on the screen, is powerful. John now has worked all the way through 1 Peter, and we have the full series grouped in five parts (one for each chapter) for personal and group study. Maybe now’s the time to give Look at the Book a fresh look. Work straight through, or take it a chapter at a time:

  In an interview with Nigeria Tribune, Reverend Gabriel Beni Omoge, who is one of the factional leader of the Church has revealed why he was ordained as one of the head of all Pastors of the Church despite not being close to the late Pastor and Supreme Head, Reverend Maforikan. While speaking with the Newspaper, Omoge likened how he found his way into Celestial Church like that of a spectator, saying he visited the Church for the first time in 1977 on the invitation of his elder brother. "My elder brother invited me to CCC Ikeja Parish 2, Lagos in 1977 putting on white robes without shoes, not knowing what God had in stock for me" he narrated.  At the parish, he was prophesied to, that he has been ordained a prophet of God, but he never believed not until in 1978, when he began to prophesy during a revival service in Ondo State. French President Emmanuel Macron will on Tuesday be the First President to visit a nightclub founded by Nigeria music legend Fela Kuti, and becoming the first real president to enter a venue synonymous with marijuana smoke, sexy backup dancers and protest music. The New  Afrika Shrine located in the teeming Lagos district of  Ikeja replaced Fela Kuti'original club that burnt down in 1977, but for millions of fans it still represents the original Shrine built by the musical maverick. God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.” (Exodus 3:15) God’s name is almost always translated LORD (all caps) in the English Bible. But the Hebrew would be pronounced something like “Yahweh,” and is built on the word for “I am.” So every time we hear the word Yahweh, or every time you see LORD in the English Bible, you should think: this is a proper name (like Peter or John) built out of the word for “I am” and reminding us each time that God absolutely is.
