Dear Omoyele Sowore, Egbon, remember the good saying that charity must start from one' own home, right ? By Governor Adeleke
Governor Adeleke this morning posted on his Facebook page asking Omoyele Sowore the publisher of Sahara Reporters who have ambition to contest for presidential set 2019, what has he done with his Sahara Reporters to draw the attention of government to the region of ILAJE and ESE ODO developments
Egbon sir, let me start by appreciating all of your achievements in life, also your audacity to aspire for the highest position is highly commendable, sir.
My elder brother from Apoi, as much as i would've loved to see a young vibrant man as you with great energies lead this great country of ours, permit me to ask..........How have you contributed to the development of our communities, LGAs and Ondo statewith the use of your internationally recognized platform, #Sahara reporters ?
Egbon, I am from Ilaje, you're an Apoi and that makes us brothers. I'm sure you know that Ilaje and Ese-Odo LGAs are of southern senatorial zone of Ondo state. As a matter of fact we used to share one LGA (Ilaje/Ese-Odo LGA) until Abacha government carved out Ese-Odo.
Egbon, do you know that despite been the only Oil and Gas producing LGAs, not just in Ondo state but the whole of Yorubaland (covering Nigeria, Benin & Togo) and with the "normal" environmental disasters brought upon our lands by the activities of these companies, we are a forgotten people by Ondo state, Yoruba nation and the Nigeria government ?
Egbon Sowore, do you know that despite hosting Omotosho power plant, it's been over five (5) of absolute darkness (electricity darkness) in the whole of our senatorial zone (with Ilaje, your own Ese-Odo and Irele LGAs already counting about a decade (10 years) of total mad darkness.) ?
Egbon, do you know that since the creation of Nigeria and Ondo state, there's been complete absence of pipe borne in your own Ese-Odo, my Ilaje, Irele and others ?
Yes, my people and your people heavily relied of contaminated water from the creeks of Ilaje and Ese-Odo for drinking, cooking and washing......yes, from that same creeks they......in, not forgetting deliberate pollution by Oil & Gas Producing Companies.
Public health system is almost does not exist as our brothers and sisters are usually rushed to better equipped and funded public hospitals in Ondo town, Akure (both of Ondo central) or Owo (Ondo north) better medical attention......common on Bros, don't tell me of the glorified advanced local "chemist/pharmacy" kioks called Okitipupa General abi na Specialist Hospital (i see absolutely nothing special about this anyway) or the advanced Babalawo native doctor shrines they referred to as government hospitals in Igbokoda (Ilaje), Irele and others
Do you also know that the so called massive investment in education is mainly restricted to Ondo central and northern senatorial zones of our state.....yes, with our own oil and gas money. You and i know (of course except you do not bother about us) that Ondo state investment in the education of our people especially in the riverine areas of our LGAs is less than 7%.
Egbon, please know that we are not in anyway (positively) affected by the construction of roads, brigdes and others in Ondo state. Again, since the creation of the state our Oil & Gas money has been consistently channelled to developing central and northern (senatorial) zones of the state while our people continue live in hell on earth.
Only recently, a directive from Abuja was given to all Oil & Gas companies operating in the Niger-Delta (Ilaje & Ese-Odo incl.) to each make yearly contribution of $100 million for the developing of the section of Northeastern Nigeria that was affected by Boko Haram war, again with no provision for the oil bearing communities our Ilaje and Ese-Odo.
Well, if you're talking about war as a basis for development, in Ilaje we had our own war of total destruction and devastation in 1998, yet we didn't get any help from nobody and we've since been carrying our closes alone by ourselves
Big Question for Egbon Sowore
-------------------------------------------------
Egbon, remember the good saying that charity must start from one' own home, right ?
How well have you used your platform (Saharareporters) to draw the attention of the Nigerian governments both at state and federal levels to this systemic destruction, marginalization and total abandonment of your own people, my people......our people ?
With your works, what are those great impact(s) that you have made on the people of our zone, especially the youths (considering the astronomically high level of youth restiveness in our LGAs) ?
Lastly, Egbon, is/are there any physically verifiable developmental project(s) personally executed for your own Kiribo community ( ot talking about your LGA now) ?
Egbon sir, before you think of supporting this great and highly commendable aspiration of yours, lets start from here and all of us will be alright, sir.
Warm regards
Governor Adeleke
